The AMWA Carolinas Chapter is privileged to spotlight Michaela Price, PhD, one of its dedicated Member Liaisons, who successfully transitioned her extensive scientific background (including a PhD in Neuroscience and postdoctoral research) into a career as an Associate Medical Writer at a global healthcare communications agency. Michaela leveraged additional experience writing for scientific blogs and a patient advocacy group. She credits her successful career change to her involvement with the supportive AMWA Carolinas community where she quickly became active on both the Board of Directors and the Conference Planning Committee after joining in 2024. Her new role allows her to combine her passion for writing about science with her commitment to helping patients, and she strongly encourages aspiring medical writers to join and get involved with the association.
