| AMWA Carolinas wants YOU to share your expertise and ideas at the 2024 Carolinas Chapter Conference (May 3, 2024, at the Friday Center, Chapel Hill, NC)!This is an excellent opportunity to help share your knowledge with medical communicators and to engage in a challenging & fun professional development activity! Click here by January 22, 2024 to submit a proposal for an educational session or a lunchtime roundtable. | AMWA Carolinas Annual Business Meeting & Virtual AI Tool Discussion |
| The AMWA Carolinas Board of Directors proposes the below slate of officers for the 2024 AMWA Carolinas Executive Committee: – President: Jenni Pickett (current President-elect) – President-elect: Jaya Samaranayake (bio below) – Treasurer: Simone Otto (incumbent) – Secretary: Nina Oshiokpekhai (incumbent) President-elect bio: Jaya is a senior regulatory medical writer at Trilogy Writing & Consulting and is based in Durham, NC. Jaya has a Master’s degree in cancer immunology and a PhD in cancer biology. She joined AMWA in 2018 and has volunteered as secretary for the Florida chapter, section editor for the AMWA journal, and most recently on the 2023 Carolinas chapter conference committee. The Executive Committee will be elected at our virtual annual business meeting on Tuesday, January 30 at 6:30 pm, which will also feature treasurer and committee reports and a group discussion of the artificial intelligence tools presented at the AMWA National Conference in Baltimore.
