Educational Session: Principles of Health Literacy Throughout a Clinical Trial Lifecycle with Rosemary Meister

March 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$25

Join us for our March educational event!

About the Session:

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health literacy as the ability to obtain, read, understand, and use healthcare information. It plays a vital role in our capacity to navigate complex medical information and the healthcare system with confidence. When we understand medical instructions, prescriptions, nutrition labels, and health education materials, we are better equipped to take charge of our own health. Health literacy is a two-way street. The burden of limited health literacy should not lie solely on the individual. Health care organizations can adopt strategies to address health literacy and make it easier for people to use their services.

This session will provide an overview of health literacy principles and where they intersect at each phase of a clinical trial lifecycle. We’ll explore:

  • Organizational health literacy and the role of medical writing
  • Influence of health authority regulations in this space
  • Patient advocacy
  • Health equity

Have a scheduling conflict? Don’t worry -a recording of the presentation will be sent to all registrants after the session!
