Virtual Annual Business Meeting & AI Tool Discussion
The Executive Committee will be elected at our virtual annual business meeting on Tuesday, January 30 at 6:30 pm, which will also feature treasurer and committee reports and a group discussion of the artificial intelligence tools presented at the AMWA National Conference in Baltimore. The AMWA Carolinas Board of Directors proposes the below slate of officers for the 2024 AMWA Carolinas Executive Committee:
- President: Jenni Pickett (current President-elect)
- President-elect: Jaya Samaranayake (bio below)
- Treasurer: Simone Otto (incumbent)
- Secretary: Nina Oshiokpekhai (incumbent)
President-elect bio:
Jaya is a senior regulatory medical writer at Trilogy Writing & Consulting and is based in Durham, NC. Jaya has a Master’s degree in cancer immunology and a PhD in cancer biology. She joined AMWA in 2018 and has volunteered as secretary for the Florida chapter, section editor for the AMWA journal, and most recently on the 2023 Carolinas chapter conference committee.

Additional nominations may be submitted in writing to the President-elect (jenni.pickett at gmail.com) and must be received at least 15 days before voting begins. Such nominations must be signed by at least 10 Chapter members in good standing and must be accompanied by an email from the candidate stating that they will serve if elected.
