..:: COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR ::..
We need someone to help us share information with our members! The communications director will (1) issue a Chapter newsletter as needed; (2) maintain the Chapter listserv; (3) keep a current list of all Chapter members; and (4) send a message to all new Chapter members welcoming them to the Chapter. The term is now through elections in the fall.
..:: CONFERENCE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ::..
Our conference is just a few short months away (Friday, April 27) and we need some help making it a great event!
- Sponsorship –You will work with Tecca Wright, AMWA Carolinas president, to contact and follow up with previous and potential sponsors; collect sponsor marketing materials to add to registration packets; and coordinate any sponsor conference needs (table, other). The timing of this is estimated to be now through the beginning of April.
- Registration Packet Preparation – You will work with Ann Winter-Vann, AMWA Carolinas president-elect, to prepare and package registration packet materials (eg, envelope labels, nametags, tent cards, etc.). The timing of this will fall mostly in the weeks leading up to, and the week of, the conference.
- Registration – We could use several volunteers for this position on the day of the conference, Friday, April 27. We need help registering attendees and sponsors for the conference, making sure signage is placed outside the appropriate conference rooms, directing attendees to their workshops or open sessions, etc.
- Publicity – You will work with Tecca Wright, AMWA Carolinas president, to draft conference updates to be sent via the listserv; prepare and mail postcards to all AMWA Carolinas members; and identify other organizations where we can publicize our conference and submit copy to them to distribute. Timing of this is estimated to be now through mid-April.
- Lunch Roundtable Discussions – You will work with Lori Rochelle, AMWA Carolinas treasurer, to identify possible discussion topics or discussion leaders; collect topic descriptions from leaders; share information with attendees and collect RSVPs; and prepare tent cards for the lunch tables. Timing for this will be February through the day of the conference (April 27).
- Conference Survey – You will work with Deana Betterton-Lewis, AMWA Carolinas secretary, to prepare the conference survey; print copies of the survey to be included in the registration packets; collect surveys at the end of the conference; and compile results and prepare a brief report within 2 weeks following the conference.
- Lunch Roundtable Discussion Leader – If you have a topic you would like to talk about during lunch at the conference, let us know! Email Lori Rochelle (treasurer@amwacarolinas.org).
Please note that all positions are paired with a member of the executive committee so there are at least 2 people working in each area.
